Get closer – Change the perspective!
It seems that right now God is talking to me a lot through pictures and I love it! Maybe because I am a very visual person and through pictures He reveals me more of Himself and gives me more revelation of His love and grace and beauty!
A week ago I had taken some beautiful sunset pictures on an island in Helsinki and this weekend I had decided to head there again…. Only this time I wished to capture something different…. I did not yet know what it would be and so I was first just wandering and taking pictures every now and then.
I was quite high in the hills when suddenly something caught my attention. It was down by the water (which was now iced) and first it seemed impossible to get there… …there were stairs – but the stairs were completely covered with snow so that there were actually no stairs at the moment…. 😉 I was hesitating what to do… do I try to get down there and MAYBE get some beautiful photos or do I stay up here ”safe” on the hills. Well, I decided to get down there…and shortly said… it was not easy and I was backsliding half of the way with my camera, tripod and back bag…. but I made it – yay!! 🙂
When I had gotten down there – right away I knew WHY I had to get there. I simply had to come closer to SEE – to get a different perspective!! When I was up there on the hills, I was not able to see what I saw now… And what I saw was absolutely ASTONISHING!! I was so in awe and was photographing two hours completely forgetting the time, missed my 7 pm ferry BUT was just so happy!
The following morning I looked those pictures again and I felt Lord talked to me through some of them. He told me that you have to get really close to really SEE – to see well – to see right – to get a different perspective – God’s perspective!! Oh, I was so excited about that. And He continued… If you look something from a distance, you cannot see well, you cannot see right! That inspired me so much and I thought that well… Pharisees were under the law…. They looked Jesus from a distance and that is why they did not SEE Him! The law prevented them to really see who Jesus is – it separated them from a possibility to have a living relationship with Him.
I think I have never been completely under the law but under the law and grace at the same time… and that is as bad as being completely under the law. What I mean is that you might believe in God’s love and grace – but at the same time you are still somehow trying to earn God’s love and favor… at least in some things… or you might be wondering if grace and love really belong to you too… I know, have been there…
Jesus already did it all – He did it for me and for you! He gave voluntary His life for us! Rom 5:19 says: “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.” That means that we can be righteous only by receiving Jesus, receiving what He has already done for us! Righteousness in Him! It has nothing to do with our own efforts! It is DONE! The grave is empty! Hallelujah!
John 8:32 says: And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. If you are – even partly – under the law, you are not completely free. The Truth is Jesus – and He has made you free – you just have to accept that, to receive that! Good news is that you cannot do anything with your own efforts to be righteous. Good news is that you and I have been set free to live a full life in Him, to fulfill our destiny in Him!
This first picture I took when I was on the hills and looked down and it seemed impossible to get there. The picture is not so photogenic as you can see but I felt Lord told me to take it…. So continue reading…. 🙂
If I had stayed up there, I could not have seen the real beauty of that evening’s sunset. I could not have gotten these wonderful pictures and seen the beauty of God in each of them. I had to come closer to CHANGE the perspective!
And when I changed the perspective – everything changed!! The whole scene changed! When I descended down by the water and watched the scenery through the lenses of my camera – It was like a leap into completely another world! I started to see from a different perspective. And that is what God wants us to do – to start seeing things from a different perspective – GRACE-perspective!
When you come closer to Jesus, you start to see things from a different perspective! You start to see Him differently; you start to see yourself differently – as sons and daughters, as kings and queens! He is all you need. He loves you, He wants to talk to you, He wants to have a living relationship with you – He wants to be your loving Father and He wants to be your friend! John 15:15 says: “No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.”
One more thing: How do you look at your life – from what perspective? From your perspective or from God’s perspective… the first picture reflects how I have seen my life sometimes… it has seemed just so difficult and messy and impossible. But when I went closer I started to see from God’s perspective!
The closer to Jesus you get, the more revelation you begin to receive from His love and beauty and grace toward you… AND you also begin to see differently your own life…. You start to see it more and more through His eyes. You start to see endless possibilities in Him! He paid a full price for your life! He sacrificed Himself for you! Your part is to receive that gift! In His eyes you are precious, beautiful and loved. If you are in anyway under the law, let it go now – permanently – and change the perspective – when you do that – it will change your whole life!
See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me. Isa 49:16.
